StorTera battery installed at National Manufacturing Institute Scotland

StorTera recently installed a StorHub battery energy storage system (BESS) at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) in collaboration with Gensource and Clark Contracts. The battery complements the facility's new and existing solar power, resulting in a resilient, low-carbon energy solution and guaranteed long-term energy savings.

We were delighted to supply a BESS to the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland in Glasgow, a carbon neutral facility where innovation such as digital transformation and advanced metal forming are driving the future of manufacturing.

NMIS have extended their on-site solar generation to include a large ground mounted solar array and solar canopies along with a 200kW/430kWh StorHub battery. The BESS enables surplus solar generation to be stored for later use thereby increasing self-consumption and reducing energy costs.

Future BESS expansion and optimisation with our Traicon energy management platform would enable further savings through peak reduction/shaving, increased self-consumption and resilience through back up power.

Thanks to our dedicated team and collaborative partners for turning this vision into reality—it has been an honour to be part of such a high profile and forward thinking project in Scotland.
