Pioneering Energy Storage
StorTera's mission is to develop sustainable battery technology to maximise the potential of intermittent renewable sources. The company was founded by Pas, Brenda, and Gavin, who met during their academic research in renewable energy at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. After separately gaining industry experience deploying grid-scale renewable projects across the UK and Europe, they identified the crucial need for improved energy storage. This shared insight led them to join forces and establish StorTera.
Since its founding, the company has developed and patented the single liquid polysulphide flow battery and has deployed advanced lithium iron phosphate battery systems on three continents with the help of a growing team of like-minded experts.
