Battery Development Chemist Nov 2019
Edinburgh EH16 Full-time
The Role
We’re hiring a new battery development chemist. The candidate will focus on developing materials, processes and/or cell architecture for next generation batteries including StorTera’s Single Liquid Flow Battery.
The candidate will perform hands-on experiments with internal and external research colleagues. While the candidate will learn technology-specific battery research skills in our laboratory, a strong background in one or more of the following technical areas is preferred: electrochemistry to understand fundamental battery chemistry, surface science focused on metallic anode protection (artificial SEI, surface modifications/coatings), high capacity anode development, and/or battery cell design/testing (e.g. pouch cells or flow cells).
You must have good written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to focus on and deliver project tasks and milestones in a timely manner. The candidate will interact with a technically diverse, distributed team across StorTera and with external partners. We are seeking a chemist with the ability to work independently, think critically and analytically and apply knowledge effectively with a focus on innovation.
You can find more information about our company here.
We encourage all engineers/chemists/graduates/experienced researchers with chemical laboratory experience to apply for this position.
